M&M Scaffolding Services were appointed to provide a full access solution to support restoration works at the historic Bamburgh Castle. Beginning on 5th January, the project required a bespoke scaffold design capable of navigating irregular stonework, varying elevations, and the sensitivities of working on a nationally significant heritage site.
The installation incorporated kentledge, strategic tie‑ins, and a fully shrink‑wrapped enclosure to create a watertight temporary structure, protecting the works from coastal weather conditions. Our team delivered the scaffold efficiently and safely, ensuring minimal disruption to public access while maintaining the highest standards of care for the castle’s historic fabric.
This project was a privilege to be part of, and reflects our continued commitment to supporting heritage conservation across the North East.
